Bridge is held at the Ajax Library (Main Branch 55 Harwood Ave. S) every Thursday from
2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Rotary Room.
Lessons are on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month. The lessons cover the basics of bidding, and the material builds on material from previous lessons. |
May 28 As we wind down the lessons for my first season presenting, I am finding myself crunched for time to get all the material presented. Today's lesson was overly long and covered topics that would normally have been presented over a series of three lessons. I do thank those who came up to me afterwards and let me know they wished I would talk longer. Oh, wait a second, NOBODY said that! LOL. Given the depth and breadth of today's lesson, I have attached the lesson's PDF file (after making corrections to errors). Bridge Bidding 09_Slams_2C.pdf. As I will be away for the last half of June, the final lesson will be in two weeks (June 11) and will also cover topics that should be covered in three sessions: Pre-empts, Overcalls, and Take-out Doubles. I shall try to keep that lesson shorter and cover them at an introductory level just to make you aware of their basics. I will be revamping my approach next season (starting in September) to try and balance out the material presentation more evenly. For those who are new to our group this season (September 2025 start), while lessons do not occur in the summer, we still meet up every Thursday for social play, so please come out for the practice. |
