    Whitby Rail Maintenance Facility Tour

    Thursday, May 16, 2024

Are you a rail fan? Are you interested in learning how GO trains are maintained, repaired and/or stored? Well, here is your opportunity to see what goes on at the Whitby Rail Maintenance Facility.

Note:  this is a members-only event.

We have been offered an opportunity for 10 members to get a behind-the-scenes look at this facility.

Registration will open on April 12, 2024.

The tour will last approximately 1 1/2 hours. As this is a working facility, you will need to wear a safety vest, hard hat and goggles, all of which will be provided to you.

You will need to sign a waiver that will be emailed to you shortly after you sign up for the tour.

    Date:         Thursday, May 16, 2024

    Time:         10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

    Cost:          $0.00

    This is a self-drive/carpool event.

We are hoping that we will be able to arrange for additional tours later on. This is a new experience for Metrolinx and we are very fortunate that we have been able to obtain this tour. We will have a waitlist in case anyone is unable to attend at the last minute as we don't want to have an empty spot when the opportunity is so limited. There will be no cost for this unique experience.

You will be standing and walking for this tour and there is one flight of stairs that you will need to climb.

People on the waiting list may also receive a waiver which will need to be signed and returned. These waivers need to be sent off to Metrolinx for approval at the beginning of May, so we need to have all of them, plus the standbys, completed and returned by then.

Hope you are one of the lucky people who will be able to take part in this event!!

If you have any questions please contact the
    convenor.
